Ex cadets and RMC staff from about 1971 to 1994 when she retired from RMC will surely remember Mrs Norleen Hope who was a fixture at the college all those years. Norleen also played the organ for many a wedding for young “ex cadets” and their brides along with baby sitting children & dogs and 1001 other things during her spare time in the evenings and on weekends – while being employed as the R&D Clerk at the college orderly room.Norleen dropped by Panet House on her annual visit to RMC. She was on her way to a lunch with some old friends at the Senior Staff Mess. While we reminisced about the “good old days” the names of a number of Ex cadets and staff flooded our conversation. It goes without saying she dearly misses the place. Noreen has been widowed for a number of years now and over the past few months moved from her long time home in Seely’s Bay. She “threw her computer away following the ice storm” from a few years back, therefore, she has been pretty “well out of touch”. Her new coordinates: 104 Michell Lane RR1, Carleton Place, ON K7C 3P1 – 613 253 4163. Old friends are encouraged to make contact (card / phone) with her soon – it would make the day of a lovely lady who loved and gave so much to the college and cadets for so long.
