Wing Commander (ret) W. William (BILL) Gilmour AFC, CD – RCAF died in
Ottawa, on October 7, 2007, at the age of 93. In 1951 he was posted as Wing Commander to number 3 Flying Training School in Claresholm, Alberta. In 1952 he returned to Toronto as a Director at the RCAF Staff College for five years and Royal Military College. In 1957 he was posted to Air Force Headquarters in Ottawa as Director of Airmen’s Postings and Careers. Upon his retirement from the Air Force in 1963, he was instrumental in establishing the human resources
frameworks and strategy for the Public Service Commission of Canada. The funeral was held October 11th in Ottawa

2721 Lieutenant Colonel (Ret’d) David Ireland McWilliams, (RMC ‘39)
Q.C., LLB, BSc (Mil.) died in London, ON, on October 9, 2007 at Longworth LTC in his 85th year. Predeceased earlier this year by his beloved wife Beverly Jane (nee Brough). Born in Toronto 1922, David attended Upper Canada College, then Royal Military College (#2721) and finally Osgoode Hall. He met Beverly while articling in Windsor, and there they made their home. For 47 years, he practised law and committed himself to his adopted community, chairing and/or sitting
on boards of numerous local organizations, including Essex County’s Children’s Aid Society, Essex Law Association and Ontario Legal Aid Plan, the District Health Council and Essex County Hospital Planning Council. He was a former chair and founding member of St Clair College, Canterbury College (U. of Windsor), and the Greater Windsor Community Foundation. David’s war service took him to the USA, the North Pacific, Britain, Italy, and Northwest Europe with the Lord Strathcona’s Horse (RC), Canadian Armoured Corps, The First Special Service Force, (2nd Canadian Parachute Battalion), First Infantry Brigade, and mustering out as captain and company commander with the Royal Canadian Regiment. Postwar service was with the Essex and Kent Scottish Regiment, where he was appointed Honourary Lieutenant Colonel in 1998. A funeral service was held in Windsor at St Mary’s Anglican Church (Walkerville) on 15 October 2007
