The first event of the Spring Military Training Weekend (SMTW) at RMC was the Colour Party Competition, attended by the Commandant, DCdts, and all squadrons. Parties from 3, 7, and 11 Squadrons faced-off in the field house at the Kingston Military Community Sports Centre on March 12.

Graded by the MWSM’s training staff for dress, deportment and drill, each competing squadron gave their best effort; the victorious party is appointed RMC’s Colour Party for the 2011-12 academic year.

Announced the next day, March 13, during the Commandant’s Parade, the victor was: 11 Squadron. Second place went to 3 Squadron, and third place to  7 Squadron.

Congratulations to the finalists, and new RMC’s 2011-12 Colour Party!

Sunday’s Commandant Parade

The Cadet Wing took part in the Commandant’s Parade this past Sunday (13 March).

The intent of the Spring Military Training Weekend (SMTW) was to confirm military skills and assess a normal high standard of dress and deportment under the command of the Cadet Wing, and served as the final, major lead-up towards Environment Preparation Training (EPT), Grad Parade and summer training.

The week-end also allowed the Cadet Wing leadership to tidy-up some assessments  on cadets who had not measured up during the January inspection.
