First-ever Canada Army Run! – 21 September / Ottawa

The Run is styled after the U.S. Army Ten Miler and the Marine Corps Marathon – world-class events that have become military traditions, attracting hundreds of thousands of military and civilian runners and spectators from around the world every year.

START TIMES
5K Starts at 0800 hrs at Cartier Drill Hall (Injured soldiers, athletes with disabilities depart 15 minutes prior)

1/2 Marathon Starts at 0900 hrs at Cartier Drill Hall (Injured soldiers, athletes with disabilities depart 15minutes prior)

RMC Sending Five Bus Loads!

RMC cadets and staff will be well represented at the first ever CF “Army” Run in Ottawa next Sunday. Five buses will be packed with cadets and staff most of whom will participate in either the 5k or the 1/2 Marathon.  More info on the Army Run

horthokeeffe.jpgThe  bus convoy is scheduled for departure to Ottawa at 0430 on sunday.   186 cadets will be running in the race. The RMC running team will be participating along with members of the RMC Rugby team and a good cross section from the entire Cadet Wing.  25 members of the RMC band will also make the trip. The band members will not be running the race but playing in little groups along the route to encourage the runners. 15 staff members will be participating in the run as well. The Director of Cadets, LCol Tony O’Keeffe will be running the 21 km route.

Box lunches will be provided. The return trip is scheduled for the afternoon.
