Royal Roads Celebratory Brunch
On Sunday 26 October 2025, the Vancouver Island Ex Cadet Club conducted a special celebratory brunch, where some 110 ex cadets, former military and civilian staff from Royal Roads Military College, gathered on the Quarterdeck in Grant Building of Royal Roads University to celebrate not only the 55 year military history of Royal Roads, 1940-1995, but also to acknowledge the importance of the motto: Truth Duty Valour /Vérité Devoir Vaillance, and the significant contributions made to Canada by all ex cadets.
First Dictionary of Canadian English: Written at RMC by Dr. W.S. Avis
This landmark Canadian dictionary demonstrated “that a substantial vocabulary relating to both today and yesterday has been developed by Canadians.” The Canadian Dictionary series that evolved from this critical work contained “clues to the true nature of our Canadian identity.” These Canadian dictionaries were a very bold idea for a country that had only recently begun to consider itself a nation in its own right.

RMC Alumni Association Administrative Fee Update – Effective January 1, 2026
At the September 12, 2025, Board Meeting, the RMC Alumni Association Board of Directors approved a motion to increase the administrative fee applied to class and program-specific funds (including restricted funds and endowments) from 1% to 1.5%, effective January 1, 2026.
This update reflects the RMC Alumni Association’s commitment to transparency, sustainability, and responsible stewardship of donor contributions. It ensures the fee fairly supports the work involved in managing and administering funds, while remaining modest and aligned with common practice.
