The legacy Dinner is a highlight for many each year – a chance to dress up – for Alumni to meet Canada’s future military leaders and nation builders – a chance to tell your favourite war story, which only gets better like a fine bottle of wine. This year we celebrated our 25th Annual Legacy Dinner to a sold-out crowd of Senior Staff of the Colleges, Alumni and spouses, friends and sponsored Naval and Officer Cadets.

Special Honour for Distinguished Alumnus – Larry Ashley RMC 1959

On Saturday August 9, 2025, Lieutenant-General (Retd) Larry Ashley was honoured by being named one of Parks Canada’s Hometown Heroes in a ceremony held at the Shearwater Aviation Museum in the presence of a host of dignitaries, family members and friends. 

Ottawa Branch’s Ironman Col (Ret’d) Sandy Schwab RMC 1987

In the fall of 2024 Sandy approached the Perley Health Foundation and offered to help raise funds to support Veterans Programs and Initiatives by soliciting donations through his participation in the 2025 Ottawa Ironman Competition. Sandy proposed to kick off the fundraising with a personal $10,000 donation and challenge supporters to match this amount to a $20,000 target.

Building the next generation: CAFCYBERCOM’s summer internship success

“The intent was to see how we could make the most of student employment programs,” explained Mr. Geoff Priems, a Command Evolution Team member and the Command Information Management Officer at CAFCYBERCOM Headquarters. “I quickly realized that students could take ownership of meaningful tasks and tackle bigger challenges than I initially imagined.”
